J M Architecture is a Brooklyn-based architectural practice grounded in the belief that architecture is a collaborative process. As a small firm, we provide individual attention and consideration to each client and project. We believe that excellent design is both timeless and timely; we strive to create spaces that reflect and enhance the beauty and simplicity of everyday activities. For every project, our goal is not only to meet the specific needs of our clients, but to transcend them.

We offer complete design services for a wide range of architectural projects including master planning, interior renovations, new construction and furnishings. Professional services are available to complete all phases of projects, beginning with careful programmatic planning, developing schematic design, providing thorough documentation and continuing through construction. The work is further informed by thoughtful material choices and details specific to and appropriate for each project. We work closely with the Contractor throughout construction, ensuring the highest level of quality and a successful outcome.

Joanne Robinson founded the firm in 2001, having previously worked at Anderson Schwartz Architects and Mitchell Giurgola Architects. Joanne received her bachelor’s degree from Harvard College in 1983 and Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988 and is a registered Architect in the state of New York. With more than 20 years’ experience, Joanne has completed work throughout New York City as well as the larger metropolitan area, Connecticut and California.
